Jamal Bukhari

Jamal graduated in LLB (Hons) from the University of Manchester in the year 2008 and was called to the Bar of England and Wales in the year 2010 through The Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn. Since being called to the Bar, Jamal has gained valuable experience in various areas of Pakistani law such as Constitutional, Company, Administrative, Building, Societies, Commercial, Arbitration, Contract, Land, Labour, Industrial Disputes, Banking & Financial Institutions, NAB, Criminal, Tax, Revenue, Fiscal and Foreigners’ Laws, while simultaneously perusing the laws of other jurisdictions such as Indian and English and analyzing their applicability in Pakistani law.

In the year 2012, Jamal assisted in drafting The National Database and Registration Authority (Amendment) Bill, 2012 and The Passports (Amendment) Bill, 2012 for the amendments to NADRA Ordinance, 2000 and the Passports Act, 1974, respectively in order to facilitate the registration of, and procurement of citizenship documents for, persons with unidentified parentage. In the year 2018, Jamal drafted the Sindh Employees Social Security (Amendment) Act, 2018.

Jamal joined Rasheed Razvi & Associates when he started his practice in September 2010 and became an integral part of the firm. At Rasheed Razvi & Associates, Jamal prepared briefs for the Supreme Court, High Courts and District Courts; negotiated settlement agreements; undertook drafting including but not limited to Civil Petitions for Leave to Appeal, Plaints, Appeals, Written Statements, Constitutional Petitions, Revision & Review Applications, Legal Notices and Civil Miscellaneous Applications. Jamal also appeared and argued before the High Courts of Sindh and Balochistan and assisted the named partner before the High Courts and Supreme Court of Pakistan.

In the year 2017, Jamal established Rizvi and Bukhari Law Associates with Syed Haider Imam Rizvi and Syed Ahsan Imam Rizvi. Jamal is a member of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, the Bar Council (UK), Sindh Bar Council, Sindh High Court Bar Association and Karachi Bar Association. In his spare time, besides cooking, Jamal likes to read books on Philosophy, Indian Jurisprudence and Constitutional Reform along with poetries authored by stalwarts such as Ghalib, Iqbal and Faiz.
